A sculptural figure is positioned between two large loudspeakers facing one another across the space. The soundtrack consists of the voices of a woman and a man producing intense, animal-like screams and vocal sounds.
The sound was digitally created and mixed specifically for stereo. Different material in the left and right channels creates movement between the two speakers, making the voices appear to travel, collide and shift across the space above and around the figure. The loudspeakers therefore function not only as playback equipment but as physical elements defining the acoustic and sculptural space of the installation.
The contrast between the static figure and the visceral sound creates a psychologically charged space in which the source and location of the voices remain unstable.
